I went to visit a yarn store in Swarthmore Pa called Finely a Knitting Party. I saw the above knitted wreath hanging on the door and thought I would photo it to show everyone.
These are some of the knitted samples hanging in Kathy Finely's shop and I thought the little sweaters looked so cute hanging on the wall. Below is Kathy. Thanks to all of the knitters there who have been so kind to us!
This hat was made in a k2 p2 rib. The yarn has little built in pom poms.Below: what a creative way to do a short row scarf!

We recently received a pillowcase filled with what I now know is fleece. Thank heavens we have our volunteers because I never saw fleece before and when it arrived I thought it was pillow stuffing. When Leslie saw it she said it was beautiful and she would show us how yarn is made and she brought in her spinning wheel.
Above and below: the finished product!
Above: Leslie showed us what a scarf looks like made from this newly spun yarn.
Above: a few clients tried to spin but we didn't have the "rhythm" the first time we tried it. Leslie made it look so easy!

This fleece was from an 80 year old knitter and I wanted to thank her for the wonderful lesson we had on spinning fleece into yarn! And thanks to Leslie for showing us.
Above: that bag is slowing growing. almost there. and below: she is going to make a purse.
Lucia made the sweater she is wearing. She is going to begin working with two of our clients on a child's sweater.
Above: Leslie is making the same hood/scarf Lucia started last week.Below: these are the growing squares to be made into a blanket for her child using the child's favorite colors.

Our outpatient client is going to show us how double knitting a square can make a little purse easily. She also is planning on showing us a coat she hopes to have completed by tomorrow and I will be sure to take a photo.Below: Zelphia is modelling a short scarf she made.

Above: She is going to start the straps this week and then it will be her first felted bag. She has worked on this for weeks and weeks and is almost there!
Above: two more hats. Below: the beginning of another felted purse. And below that another growing purse to be felted.
More to come tomorrow! The weeks are passing too quickly..............................
