Oct 6 and Oct 13, 2007

Above: after felting, below before. It looked good before as well but didn't have enough body. Our outpatient (just discharged from residential) found a pattern, figured it out herself, and look at what she created!

Above: before felting, stay tuned for next week's photo for the after photo.

Above: the red bag finally done and felted! Below: Zelphia, our volunteer, is showing our knitters her latest project.

Above: Lynn works here and comes to knit with us whenever she can. Below: this particular client loves using chunky yarn and has persisted for months to learn how to knit. She did it! She has made several in all chunky yarn colors!

Above: She is working on a pink blanket for her child. Below: the handbag below is recycled wool from an unfinished project.

Above and Below: two more handbags.
Above: before felting and below: look at what she did with the handle!!!!!!!!
Lucia is showing the clients a pouch she felted and is continuing to work on a vest for her husband.

She graduated to scarves! She has been working here for a short time but is already a knitter!
Above: our client designed this handbag herself. What a great idea and it isn't felted.
Look at these beautiful scarves above and below a blanket for her daughter.

Leslie is showing the clients a handbag she is finishing. Below: a first washcloth - a present for her child! And she has moved on to scarves now and just this week showed me two that she finished for her sons!

Above: our client was so excited to use feather yarn. Below, our intern is finishing her washcloth. One client taught her to knit and another taught her to bind off today.

Above: to be felted. Below: more scarves. What fun!

Above: I am looking forward to see how the above bag turns out after it is felted. Below: our client is making a soft scarf for her mother who is ill.

Above and Below: blankets in progress, one crocheted and the other knitted panels.

Above: another bag to be felted. Below: Megan is showing the clients a scarf she is making using size 5 needles. It is a self striping yarn and she is having fun with it. She is a great role model for patience with those small needle projects!

Above: I finished the alpaca scarf. You can't see where I joined the two sides. It seemed to go on forever! I started this in July! Look at that ruffle! It is beautiful and soft!
Above: our client is almost finished her socks! Yeaaaaa! Below: the same client combined yarns and finished a scarf with the stitch that Leslie uses and that we now call the "leslie stitch" which is p 1 - yo - p2 tog - yo and finish the row using an odd no. of stitches.

Above: another felted bag. Below: a new knitter on her second project (after the washcloth).
