August 15 and August 22

Time flies! Last week passed and I didn't realize it was Friday, a new knitting group, and I never downloaded my photos on the blog. So we have two weeks mixed together here. We have many new knitters who are learning! It is very inspiring for all of us to see each other's projects each week and see how and what each person creates. We have received many wonderful letters and emails and we thank you all. I read them each week during the group and it is appreciated.

We had visitors today. Tamela and Rebecca from Women's Way joined our knitting group and learned how to knit today. We are passing it on........

This navy blanket is made in strips with each square connected and knitted in a different pattern. This outpatient client/now volunteer and college student has completed two and is now working on her third!

This will be a pillow for her son.
This is going to be an unfelted handbag with red and white acrylic yarn tightly knit.
Her everything blanket is growing.
Here is Lucia, our volunteer. She is showing us her two projects. Above a sweater in beautiful green manos yarn. Below an intarsia very difficult pattern, a gift for a special person.

Above: Our outpatient client brought this in to show us. She began this blanket last november and it took that long to finish because she cast on about 400 stitches. But she did it. It is really big! and very beautiful.
Leslie, our volunteer is showing the knitters a scarf she is working on.
This is a wool bag still in the process of being knitted.
One of our therapists here who is expecting a baby. The clients knitted squares, joined them together, and gave her the blanket today during our knitting group/baby shower. They did a fantastic job of the blanket and the baby shower. What fun!

Below: the ladies are working on another blanket for a special little boy as well.

This new knitter is working on combining colors for a blanket.
This is our social work intern this year who just learned to knit. She is working on a scarf.
And here she is the next week:

This bag is in the process of being knitted and below we have a bag completed!

Above: purple wool yarn on its way to being a handbag. Here is a blanket in shades of blue.

This is Linda our volunteer getting started on Christmas presents.
Above: another handbag to be felted. Below. our socklady finished another baby surprise jacket.

This new knitter is working on a scarf. Below: magic stripes in hats! This pattern is from the 365 knitting calendar!

More finished felted bags!
