August 1 and August 8

We didn't have our regular group on August 8 because there was an outside trip planned for that day. These photos are from August 1. There have been a lot of discharges again as people have completed their six months so we have many new knitters to teach.

We received these stitch markers from a group of six young knitters who actually made them. They will be used for very special projects!
This is one of our outpatients working on her knitting - she is almost done this baby blanket.
This is a blanket with lots of different yarns. It is almost done.

A new knitter working on a scarf above. And below, another blanket in shades of red and she finished it today!

Above: the beginning of a non felted handbag and below Zelphia, our volunteer, is showing us a shawl she is working on.

Above: Lucia our volunteer, below: two new knitters discovering fancy fur yarn.

Above a scarf in black and red yarn mixed. Below: a new knitter discovering grandma's favorite washcloth.

Above: she is working on her blanket in homespun, a present for her mom. Below: this will be turned into a handbag.

Above: this blanket is getting bigger. Below: our socklady is now knitting little maryjane booties.
And here she is working on another elizabeth zimmerman baby surprise jacket.

Above: look at how the kids yarn turned into a very cool hat. Below: Leslie is showing us a poncho and a sweater for a very lucky baby below that.

Below: here is our felted handbag gallery:
before and after felting but not yet with the strap.
Below: this yarn came from Ireland. She has been working on it for months and finally finished it. She still has to do the straps, these are just temporary. She also is going to make a scarf and hat to match.
