My first sweater! Not quite a person sweater but a good start. One of our clients wants to make a sweater for her daughter's favorite dog stuffed animal. Below she has a leash and collar she knitted.
Above is a shawl, she has only been here about two weeks. Below is a handbag soon to be ready for felting.
Look at the hat and scarf she designed. Below a shawl for a little toddler.
Megan who works here was proudly showing us her socks!
Leslie and Zelphia - two of our wonderful volunteers - are showing the ladies the einstein coats that they created (Leslie's is in progress), Zelphia's was done long ago. My photo doesn't quite get the detail of the coats correctly.
One of our clients is busy making christmas ornaments, little santa hats she is felting.
She was so very proud that she finally learned how to knit. She has been trying for a couple of weeks but got it today!
Above: Lucia finished her husband's birthday present. Below she is now working on a hoodie for her niece. And she made the grey sweater she is wearing.
This client is working on a stitch that makes a lacey look. she is casting on an odd number and then k1, yo,k2tog,yo, and so on.
Zelphia is teaching some of the clients how to make a shawl like the one she did above. Several of our clients were inspired and started one themselves.
Above: a scarf and below: look how long the newbie scarf is getting!

Here is Devon who came back to visit us. Devon used to work here and used to knit with us! It was great to have her stop by.Below Terry, a therapist here, is working on her everything blanket. That is a blanket with each row a different yarn.

We received some cones of yarn and the ladies went to work during our knitting group putting it into balls! It was fun. They learned that if you turn too fast it pops off the top! They quickly got the hang of it and are starting some new exciting projects!
She is getting her hat done!and more scarves in progress.
Below: the beginning of a handbag.
Thank you to everyone! I pass on all of the good wishes and words of wisdom during our knitting group. I want to write more and will but the weeks go by so fast. I always want to get the photos posted quickly and rather than delay them here they are. It is wonderful to watch all of the new knitters have so much fun with their new found skill!
