Amy, our volunteer, explained that her mother has knitted her whole life. She made this scarf during the 60's and remembers knitting as the events unfolded surrounding JFK. She noted that the stitches are tighter as she watched with tension over those days. The scarf is over 40 years old and still used and cherished and has a story.
Above, a first project and she got it.
This new knitter is so proud of her scarf.
Here is a shawl and a little purse.

The word of day: Welcome Spring!!! and
Thanks to so many people we have been able to knit so many different things! Thanks to the people who heard the podcast, thanks to the people who have known us and continue to send us good wishes, thanks to our volunteers who come every week to teach us and thanks for the letters telling us about you. It is all so inspiring for our knitters. It has been beautiful here in Philadelphia. The flowers are blooming and the weather is perfect. I will not be posting again until May 11 and the clients tell me that I will be very surprised at everything they are creating - lots of blankets using bits and pieces of yarns!!!
