The words for the day: Happy Birthday Zelphia

The clients made a birthday cake for Zelphia and we celebrated her day today! The clients each spoke about how grateful they are for Zelphia and how they realize that as a volunteer she is coming because she wants to be with THEM. They surprised Zelphia with a beautiful pink ruffled shawl she admired in a prior group. We are working on a "Vegas Scarf" taught to us by Zelphia for Zelphia. It is a scarf on circulars with about 150 stitches casted on and each person does a row with a different yarn and leaves the ends long for fringe. I will take a photo of it when we finish it! There is so much being worked on - felted bags; bathing suit coverups, shawls. Thanks to all who have donated the beautiful yarn we are using. Because it is Mother's Day on Sunday, we made keychains as presents. This was a fun project that everyone enjoyed participating in. It is also a great way to use up tiny pieces of yarn. And a great way to not lose your keys in your "felted" handbag!
