Oct. 23 & Oct. 30, 2009

Happy Halloween! Here are some photos from our latest projects. Thank you to everyone who reads this blog and thanks for your good wishes. We love hearing from everyone who writes. So many people have helped keep this knitting program going and there are many many new knitters in the world now. The clients say it helps so much in their recovery from drugs and alcohol. It is inspiring for them to hear your stories so thank you for writing.

We have a client who is fast becoming the "hat lady" --- below: our social work intern who is finishing her project and inspiring the ladies and showing the clients this blog on a laptop.

This is a new knitter's first project. What we now call a "spa cloth." Below, look at her scarf.

This is our volunteer, Jamar, dressed for halloween, teaching a new client how to knit. And below: another new knitter.

This is Leslie, our volunteer, showing the ladies her newest beautiful project. Below, a new knitter finished her first scarf.

This lady is so proud of her first project that isn't a scarf. She is making a shawl out of beautiful yarn. She also just learned to purl and is making a skinny scarf with two rows purl and two rows knitting, learning..........and she is having fun with it.

We have a client who loves to crochet and this hat is her latest project. Below, this lady only wants to knit with thicker yarn. This is her latest!

Above: a scarf from someone who has been persistently learning, below, a shrug she hopes to have finished by this Friday. It's a present for her mother.

This is Alison, our volunteer, showing us her latest projects.

This is a piece that can be worn up or down. This is our socklady! off of socks for a minute.

Zelphia, dressed for halloween, showing us her latest project. she is designing a sweater. herself.
Here is our hat lady again.

Lynn, who works here, is inspiring everyone with her long skinny scarves using odds and ends of yarn.
