October 9, 2009

Thanks to everyone who has helped us with yarn and needles. We have so much gratitude that we can continue to offer this amazing craft that helps our ladies in early recovery. There has been so much knitting and crocheting going on this week.

Above: Amanda our new student intern learning to knit and purl from our "socklady".

Below: Leslie, our volunteer, inspiring everyone with her beautiful knitting.

Above: this lady just learned to purl and she is working on a shrug. Below, this is what our knitting group looks like.

People are getting ready for the cold weather!!!

Above: Alison, she was teaching one of the clients this scarf pattern.

Below: Stephanie, one of our volunteers!

Above: our knitting drawer got a little messy. One of our clients decided to straighten it all out. We use it all!

This is Michele, one of our student interns, learning how to knit.

This is our socklady. This is the biggest grocery bag we ever saw. it is unfelted so stay tuned for the final product.

Zelphia, our volunteer, inspiring us.

Zelphia is making a shawl and we are watching it get bigger each week.

Above Lynn Making her own fancy yarn tying together pieces. Below, Liz, showing off one of Lynn's scarves. Both Lynn and Liz work here.

Wow: she worked so hard on her bohemian pattern scarf which created the loops down the sides.
