March 20 and March 27, 2009

We have heard from so many wonderful knitters and recently from as far away as South Korea! We also will be receiving instructions on how to make felted cat toys for our pet therapy organization. I will soon have a cat toy gallery! This organization does a lot of work with rescued animals. We want to help them out with little blankets and cat toys.

Here are some of the photos from the past two weeks. There is so much knitting throughout the weeks and there is so much creativity here. All of the ladies say how much knitting has helped them in early recovery and after learning this they have a lifetime hobby if they choose to keep going with it.

Above: a shawl of many colors. Below Zelphia, our volunteer, is showing us a shawl she finished.

Here are some handbags being completed:

Above: Her blanket is getting bigger! Below, Steph, a volunteer, is showing the ladies a sweater she is completing.

Here is a sweater and hat for baby Maddie and this is what it looks like on! We are very lucky to have Jean, our volunteer, teaching us.

This handbag combines crocheted straps, knitted bag, and buttons.

Here is a felted "hippy" bag as she calls it.

Lucia, our volunteer, is working on a sweater. Our intern, Heather, is working on a shrug.

Leslie, one of our volunteers, is showing the ladies a scarf she is finishing.

She was so proud of her pom pom on her first knitted hat.
