Oct 3, 10, and 17, 2008

October 3 was our Graduation Celebration for the clients who completed both 6 months residential and 6 months outpatient. Our 14 graduates, their guests, and staff had an enjoyable time. The weather here in Philadelphia cooperated and we had a beautiful day. Above Yvette, who works here, is getting ready to welcome the graduates.
I am combining the following two weeks of our knitting group creations and there is a lot of knitting besides my photos! I am just behind!

Above and below: new knitters with their first projects.

Below: we have a lot of fancy blankets going!
And here is our handbag gallery:

Zelphia, our volunteer, showing us a shrug above and a shawl below.

A baby blanket in grandma's washcloth pattern!!!!!
Above, a handbag made with cotton yarn worked just fine and doesn't need to be felted.
Linda, our nurse, is still working on mastering socks.

Above: Lynn, who works here is joining squares to make a blanket.

Above: very fancy recycled yarn is being knit into an intricate shawl by our socklady.
Katie, who works here, is inspiring others to make ponchos.

Above and below: two first time scarf knitters with their first projects in homespun yarn!

Above; Linda our volunteer is showing the clients a scarf she finished using fancy ladder yarn.
Lucia is making a sweater for her husband. We are watching it get bigger each week.
