Above: Michelle our social work intern this year is showing us a scarf she completed in a fancy stitch! The school year is almost done and Michelle will be moving on but we loved having her join us each week.
Leslie is making a sweater and is showing us self striping yarn.
Above and below: two bags to be felted. The lady above has only been here about a month and she is now working on her third bag.
Above and below: more bags!

And these two are finished.
Above: One of our outpatient clients who is "four years clean" comes each week and is showing the new knitters how she evolved into an "advanced knitter." She practiced and practiced different washcloth patterns. She brought in some of her projects.
One of our ladies is working on a blanket. Behind her is the husband of one of our volunteers. They live far and we appreciate the time they take to join us!
This is Zelphia showing us a shrug she made from sari silk.
Above: another felted bag. It looked like spring. It is cascade and landscapes yarn together. Below is Lucia's sweater finished except for the buttons. There is a beautiful row of cable stitches that my camera didn't capture. I will try again next time. She didn't expect to have this done until the fall. It is beautiful.
Below: Lucia is holding a scarf completed by one of the ladies who has only been here about three weeks. It is beautiful!
Things to think about this week. Passing it on. As I was leaving last week one of our volunteers said how much she enjoyed passing on not only her ability to knit but the whole process of volunteering and the joy that she receives from spending this time with others. She said that she hopes that this can "plant a seed" in those that she works with to do the same for others. Our volunteers are wonderful. Not only are they amazing women, stellar knitters, but they are teaching all of us at IHI to "pay it forward."
