Thanks for all of the good wishes we receive each week. I always read the notes at the start of our knitting group. The clients appreciate hearing about different places, hearing others experiences with knitting and it is all inspiring! As you can see from the photos below there is a lot of knitting and crocheting happening here. I have received several requests for information and I will write back.

Above: Lucia explaining that she WILL finish her purple mohair sweater because she is giving herself a deadline. She explained that she can picture how it will look with a crisp white shirt, black pants, black boots, and pearls!!!!!!!!! We all loved hearing the description and I will take a photo when it happens!

This is a shawl made with ribbon yarn. You should see the smiles as these creations are shown during our group. Below: a brand new knitter working on a belt.

This client was discharged from residential, is living in transitional, and is coming back to our knitting group each week. She is making a baby hat and blanket for a soon to be grandchild.

Above: Leslie is showing the clients a scarf she is working on. She brought some samples of different wool and she explained how yarn is made from wool. And below is the alpaca alpaca that I passed around to the clients to show where alpaca grows and who Toby often uses as a very soft pillow!

The above two photos were made by the same client. She explained how knitting is keeping her still and focused. She never thought she would get past the difficult learning phase.

Above, our graduate volunteer is working on the above cabled I think she said washcloth? And this same knitter just completed the shrug in encore yarn. From the response of the group, I think we will be seeing more of this shrug!

Above: two blankets in progress. Below: many many crocheted afghans in all sizes, shapes, and colors and kinds of yarns.

We received many different kinds of wool yarn from many different places. The clients are fascinated by felting and in being able to create their own handbags. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of them over the next weeks. I have some photos of finished bags and works in progress:

Above and below: Megan and Zelphia our knitting volunteers are working on and showing the ladies a bag that they call a pentagon bag (I forget the real name) but you can see Zelphia's squares above and Megan is showing how it will come together below. Stay tuned!

Above: you should she her smile as she showed her finished felted bag with a button sewed on to the group.

Above: this orange bag will have "embellishments" the next time I photo it. And below I have photographed a before and after felting project.
