June 2 & June 9, 2006 - two weeks together

next week this bag should be felted!
The clients worked on this scarf for Zelphia for her birthday. It was something Zelphia taught us: each person picks a different yarn and knits longwise, casting on 150 stitches. It got passed for person to person over the past couple of weeks.
This is a shawl for a child. Not quite done yet.
This shawl was knitted by Zelphia who is modeling it.
Hi Liz, modeling a shawl in progress!
Here is Zelphia showing a blanket crocheted by a client.
Here is a scarf made from recycled yarn sent to us from Melissa from Michigan. She unraveled a sweater from a thrift shop and one of our clients/residential graduates reknitted it into this beautiful scarf. Thanks Melissa!
This is the shawl pattern that Zelphia and one of our clients designed.
Some scarves completed by the same client in less than a week.

This blanket is knitted by a client for her daughter.
felted slippers, yeaaaa! - by our client graduate volunteer/aka creative c.
My felted handbag. I am now working on the strap.
Here is Liz, our RA, with her crocheted afghan!
A client's crocheted afghan! She has only been here about a month!
Oops! Toby is joining us!
The word of the week: Inspiration

There have been many changes in the community with discharges and admissions. Our knitting is still going strong with our clients learning faster and faster. So much inspiration here with the volunteers and clients and outpatient volunteers who join us each week. Today we even had Liz, an RA at Interim House, join us for our knitting group.
